Biography : Bitkov Vladimir V., born in 1948, a metallurgical engineer. In 1972 he graduated from Ural Polytechnical Institute, metallurgical faculty, specialty "Metal processing by pressure". Post-graduate study by correspondence from 1975 to 1978. From 1975 to 1986 - Head of Technical control department at Revda Hardware Metallurgical Plant. In 1978 - Ph.D. thesis defense, subject "Improvement of wire drawing technology on the basis of friction conditions and metal plastic properties research". From 1986 till present he works as a senior research assistant of system modeling laboratory. Has good skills in written English.

He wrote a monograph "Technology and machines for wire production", published in 2004 by edition house of Russian Academy of Science, Ural Branch. The given monograph was highly evaluated by specialists in the field of wire production at Russian plants and in the countries of countries of ex-URSS. It is also a textbook for university students.

Nowadays scientific research of Dr. Bitkov Vladimir V. is concerned with study of technological possibilities of fine and superfine wire drawing in bunch under hydrodynamic friction conditions for the purpose of getting wire from special alloys and steels with diameter 1 mm and less. To realize pilot research of this study the installation of equipment for fine and superfine wire drawing in bunch in the laboratory is being carried out under his guidance and with his own active participation.
