Urals State University:senior research worker 1987-1988. Inst. ofengineering Science, Russian Academy ofScience (Urals Branch): senior researchworker 1988-1998; leading research worker1998- up to now. Urals State University:Professor of Chair Mathematical Physics 1998-up to now. Researches:Prof. V. Fedotov specializes in the development of techniquesand algorithms for solving coupled boundary value problems ofelastic-plastic deformation, hydrogen diffusion and heatconduction where mutual effect of these processes issignificant. He has developed constitutive equations forelastic-plastic boundary value problems valid for a wide rangeof hydrogen concentration in metal. V. Fedotov has formulated avariational method for solving these boundary value problemswhen the mechanical properties of metal products are non-uniformdue to hydrogen diffusion. He has solved the problems of hydrogendiffusion into structural members where the stress state ofstructures is taken into account.
